Nicknamed “the Billionaires’ Hill”, La Californie is one of Cannes’ most prestigious neighbourhoods. Hidden among the lush Mediterranean vegetation of its hillsides are magnificent villas and residences surrounded by beautiful gardens.

The Iconic Villas of La Californie
Villa La Californie – Picasso
Pablo Picasso moved into this villa in 1955 with Jacqueline Roque. Captivated by its light and views over the Bay of Cannes, he renamed it “La Californie” and set up his studio there. He lived in the villa until 1961.
Villa Fiorentina
Built in 1880, this elegant Italian-inspired aristocratic residence is a beautiful reminder of Cannes’ golden age. Its architecture and gardens evoke the era when wealthy winter visitors built grand residences on the hills above the city.
Villa Domergue and its Gardens
At the foot of La Californie, Villa Domergue is particularly worth a visit. Inspired by Italian villas, it was designed from 1934 onwards by the painter Jean-Gabriel Domergue. Its terraced gardens, dotted with pools and waterfalls, provide a particularly elegant setting.
A Spectacular View of the Cannes Fireworks
From the Le Saint Georges apartment, set on the hills of La Californie, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view over the bay and watch the spectacle as Cannes lights up below.
Created in 1967, the festival has become one of the highlights of the Cannes summer season, bringing together international pyrotechnic artists for spectacular shows combining music and fireworks.
